After the debacle which culminated in the leadership of Julia Gillard ending it would have been reasonable to think that the Liberal Party would at least find some policies but now we have Joe Hockey suggesting that when he was on the Kokoda Track in 2006 he should have drowned Kevin Ruidd, Gillard’s replacement. The abuse will continue and the Liberal Party will remain a largely policy free area.
The ascension of Kevin Rudd to the top job, again, has meant that the “swinging” voters (read morons) have decided that the Labor Party has not sold the country down the drain and left Australia with an economy which is struggling but instead has produced an economic miracle compared to all the rest of the western economies and the emerging economies of Asia and Africa. What has changed? The man in charge is a man and the person who was in charge was a woman and the only difference is the gender of the occupant the policies remain the bloody same!
Australia needs to mature as a nation and stop making decisions on their political leadership on the basis of the mainstream media telling them what to do and how to vote. Start thinking for you bloody selves!
We have a country which is rich in mineral resources and when the foreign companies who are extracting the ore say “jump” we say “how high?”. Instead of letting these foreign entities demand things like tax concessions and other things, like environmental safeguards being loosened and the foreign worker visas etc.., we should say if you don’t like it bugger off, we’ll dig the bloody stuff up ourselves and process all of it before it leaves the bloody country!
